Exelon Case Study
Fixing an Entertainment Dilemma
Client: Exelon
Event: Employee Family Holiday Party
Objective
To design an event that would engage children of all ages attending the annual family holiday party. In previous years, the client had primarily focused on families with younger children, leaving the older children feeling disconnected from the entertainment.
The Program
As guests entered the Hotel DuPont for the annual Exelon family holiday party, they were greeted by Tippy the Elf, and pointed in the direction of all of the fun! Straight ahead was Santa’s workshop, with a photo opportunity for families with Santa and Mrs. Clause. Just downstairs was the main dining area with buffet style brunch for everyone. Getting everyone in the holiday spirit in the dining area was our DJ Jeff, who played some holiday favorites as guests enjoyed their meal.
After some of the families were finished their meals, DJ Jeff and Tippy the Elf started to lead the younger children in dancing activities. They encouraged families to bring children on the dance floor and kept everyone moving.
Announcements were made to encourage older children to go upstairs to the Teen Room, complete with DJ Mitch and some activity staff as well as Wii stations with a variety of games. Also upstairs were teen-oriented buffets complete with fun finger foods. Activity staff led the group in hula-hoop contests, line dances and a mummy wrap game. Prizes were awarded to those who participated and many families got involved. Wii staff assisted guests as they played the games around the room and competition was fierce.
Roberts Event Group consulted with our client on the layout of the party and provided entertainment activities that created a good environment for families with children of all ages to enjoy the party! All members of the family were engaged in the entertainment for this year’s event!
The Response
“Just a note to say thank you again for making our 2008 Holiday Party a great success. The teen set really enjoyed it for the first time ever…”
