Healthy Tips for Traveling

While traveling, whether it is for work or for leisure, it is important to stay hydrated and make sure you are getting enough rest. There is nothing worse than prepping for weeks for a business trip or family vacation only to arrive to your destination with a weakened immune system. A few easy steps you can take to prevent this are as follows:

  • Always wipe down surfaces with a sanitizing wipe to ensure that germs and bacteria disappear.
  • Stay hydrated, especially on long flights and train rides. It is easy to forego drinking a lot of water while traveling, but because travel can take such a toll on your body, it is important to always bring an extra water bottle.
  • Eat healthy! I know those French fries in the airport food court smell delicious, but those types of foods can also weaken your immune system and make you more susceptible to catching a cold. It is beneficial for your health to pack healthy snacks such as almonds.
  • Most importantly: have fun!  And, if your meeting or conference organizes an opportunity for you (teambuilding, 5K, fitness instructors, walking tours, etc), take advantage!
