Olympic Themed Teambuilding

Client: United States Liability Insurance
Event: USLI Olympic Games

Objective

To create an Olympic themed teambuilding event for our client, in honor of the Summer Olympic games in Beijing, China.

The Event

Employees of United States Liability Insurance were divided into teams to compete in the USLI Olympic Games. Teams were given instruction the week prior to the event to create a “country name” as well as to select an anthem and design a flag to represent themselves in competition.

The Opening Ceremonies for the USLI Olympic Games began as the DJ welcomed spectators to the arena – the large grass area outside of the office building. Spectators gathered as each team filed in behind their flag bearer, marching to their personalized anthems. The President of the company lit the USLI Olympic torch, signaling that it was time to “let the games begin.”

Olympic games included the Swim Fin Relay (swim), Tour de USLI (bike), Hip a Dee Hop Horses (equestrian), Dizzy Bats (baseball) and the Big Foot Race (track and field). The competition proved fierce as co-workers went head to head in each part of the round robin competition. The final competition of the day was a Sumo Wrestling tournament, where coordination was key and the strongest person remained standing.

Team anthems were played as Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were awarded to the teams that achieved the most success. After all of the awards, the Olympic Torch was extinguished, to signify the end of the games.

Roberts Event Group created a successful teambuilding event, achieving the goals of the client in a new and exciting way. The spirit of competition was alive all day as co-workers became teammates and helped each other through many obstacles, all while having fun!
