Roberts Event Group CEO Educates Non-Profit Affiliates

During the 2013 Annual Affiliate Leadership Conference, Joey Roberts, CEO of Roberts Event Group was invited as Philadelphia’s industry expert to educate attendees on special events. With fundraising being a vital avenue to the success of their organizations, it is imperative for affiliates to understand how to effectively produce a fundraising event that will yield positive results. Mr. Roberts’ presentation focused on an array of valuable topics including when affiliates should plan their first event, what steps should be taken to identify their target audience, how to gain in-kind and financial support, and what quantitative information to use to analyze their return on investment (ROI).
The seminar concluded with an interactive activity giving attendees the opportunity to use information absorbed during the session as a team to plan their own fundraising event. Teams were required to make decisions on which elements included in their packets would work best for the type of event selected, and then present their event with their budget at the end. The attendees definitely enjoyed the exercise, and their presentations proved that they acquired a great deal of knowledge from the seminar.
