Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts Opening Reception
PHILADELPHIA, PA (April 5, 2011) – Roberts Event Group, Inc. (REG), the Philadelphia region’s leading provider of special events, meeting management, destination management, and event entertainment since 1994, has been commissioned to provide entertainment for the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA) opening reception on April 7, 2011, taking place at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts.
REG has been a major part of the PIFA Street Fair (April 30, 2011) planning, and his happy to provide entertainment services for the opening reception on April 7, 2011, as well. PIFA decision-makers even decided to use a rendering, first generated by REG, to promote the Street Fair (rendering attached)!
The cocktail reception will begin at 6:00 p.m. and attendees will view multiple performers garnered by REG. Following the cocktail reception, guests will experience The Philadelphia Orchestra and the Pennsylvania Ballet, on stage together in a newly choreographed performance of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella. Dinner by Wolfgang Puck in honor of Chef Georges Perrier will begin at 8:30 p.m., featuring a 10:00 p.m. pre-dessert performance by Grounded Aerial. Thursday will also be the first lighting of the 81-foot, light-bulb-filled Eiffel Tower located in the Commonwealth Plaza of the Kimmel Center.
The Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA), inspired by the Kimmel Center, launches the city’s art and cultural scene onto the world stage with a three week festival offering performances, exhibits and events for loyal fans and casual attendees. Based on the philosophy of collaboration, innovation and creativity, PIFA’s programs represent every arts discipline and include more than 100 partners. The festival was made possible by an extraordinary grant from Philadelphia philanthropist Leonore Annenberg, whose vision for a city-wide celebration of the arts shaped its philosophy and programming.
