Broad Street Lighting Case Study
Reinforcing the Vision
Client: The Center City District
Event: Electri-City Broad Street Style
Objective
To celebrate, in an innovative way, the newly installed permanent lighting fixtures which illuminate eleven historical building facades along the Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia.
The Program
As the Center City District flipped the switch on the newly installed lighting fixtures, a festival created excitement for all in attendance. Thirty interactive performers, including stilt walkers, jugglers, magicians, quick-sketch artists and roller skaters, were on hand to entertain the throngs of onlookers. Dressed in unique lighted costumes made especially for the festival; performers entertained guests along the Avenue of the Arts and distributed fun, glowing and blinking lighted novelties.
Musical performances throughout the festival included rock and roll bands, a Gospel choir, strolling Dixie and a marching band. All of these groups were also dressed in ornately lighted costumes and uniforms.
Two Nutcrackers were on hand at the base of the stage where brief remarks were made prior to the light show. The show began with the score of the Nutcracker along with a synchronized music and light show dancing across the facades of the buildings on the Avenue of the Arts.
Roberts Event Group created, coordinated and designed the festival that brought all of the elements of the evening together, producing an unforgettable spectacle that embodied the vision and exceeded the expectations of our client.
