EMA Case Study
A Cost Effective Special Event that Drives Home Message
Client: Bovello & Associates for Envelope Manufacturers Association
Event: 75th Anniversary Celebration Industry Partner Party
Objective
To design a cost-effective 75th Anniversary celebration that reinforces the client’s meeting theme, focusing on Growth Through Innovation and Sustainability as the Industry looked forward to the start of the next 75 years.
The Event
Members of The Envelope Manufacturers Association (EMA) arrived in Philadelphia for a meeting-heavy program with keynote speaker Post Master General Jack Potter. The Saturday evening Industry Partner Party had to have all the bells and whistles as the program’s main social event while adhering to a modest budget.
The theme for the evening was, “Past to the Future”, reinforcing the content portion of the program. Guests mingled in the cocktail area with simple background music and an impersonator portraying Ben Franklin, the creator of the nation’s first Post Office. Understated sheer gold star linens topped with colonial star votives set a soft ambiance for the historic “Past” area.
To signal the transition to the “Future,” low lying smoke poured from the ballroom doors, as the window shades slowly rose, creating intrigue for the main event in Millennium Hall. Fiber optic centerpieces and a strategically designed lighting package including spandex fabric panels and free standing truss sections completed this high tech illusion. A DJ played theme music as award recipients were honored, and offered a high-energy dance party following dinner. High tech games, including Wii game stations, Rock Band, and Virtual Reality games allowed guests to participate in the evening’s theme.
Roberts Event Group transformed the evening with galaxy size success on a cost-minded budget.
